Shadow With each stroke he took in more air rapidly turning his face side ways to keep up momentum. The windows were closed which made the room reek with a musk like smell but Ayden didn't mind it; his big meat was vast approaching and he needed all the extra practice time he could get. Although his body wanted to stop his mind persisted that he kept going. With each breath of air his body took in there was a strange sensation of fear He couldn't explain it but something was terribly wrong. He continued to take his meticulous strokes and artful strides in the water while being engulfed in the silence of the night or the Ayden's skin splashing against the water in the pool. Ayden's fear soon evaporated and turned into thoughts of what happen the previous night. Conversations echoed in his head soon making him stroke viscously at the water. He came to an abrupt stop at the stairs while claiming out his blue rabbits foot necklace untied and sunk to the bottom of the deep end. He stood there above the deep in with his burnt peach skin dripping wet with water. The stench of chlorine could be smelled a mile away. As he glanced intently at the water he thought his eyes were deceiving him for his reflection seemed to glare at him with menacing eyes and a death like smirk. That caused him to peer in a little further and before he knew it a shadow like hand reached up from the water grasped his ankle and sucked him down into the deep in. He barely got out a gasp before he realized exactly what was going on. Ayden managed to get out of the clutches of the sightless fiend. He ran quickly into the locker room where he proceeded to throw on his close rapidly. While in the locker room he caught a quick glimpse of himself in the mirror. It wasn't him he couldn't explain it, but there was something in his eyes that didn't seem right somehow his reflection was staring at him with harsh cold eyes. He shook it off and ran out of the locker room at the speed of light. Bursting out into the hallway he collided into his brother Tristen. "What in the devil is going on Ayden?" "Oh nothing I was just coming from the pool. Say what are you doing down here so late you know if the head master caught you-" "Yea I know I'd be in big trouble. I was just coming to look for my big brother is there a problem with that" "Ahhahah no problem" replied Ayden with an uneasy laugh his face look as if he'd just seen a ghost it wasn't long before Tristen picked up on his brothers anxiety. What's the matter?" Tristen asked with an air of concern. " I don't know I'm just a little cold from the shower I took" Ayden lied ;' Well 1 think you'd better go take another one because you still smell like chlorine" Tristen said while making a sour face. So there they were standing in a big cold hallway which was only lit by the moon outside that the only thing you could see was your shadow. While they were standing there Ayden again caught sight of something, but this time it was his shadow. It was moving back and forth swaying almost as if it wanted to sway right of the wall and into his world. What was going on he thought to himself I'm not crazy. As he began to peer harder into the wall where his shadow was swaying his brother grew concerned for all he saw was Ay den looking intently down the hallway. "Tristen I'm going to need you to run" Ayden said in a hushed whisper. " Why" Tristen asked puzzled "Don't ask questions just run" before Ayden could finish his sentence his feet was moving 90 miles per hour down the long corridors or They're high school. "Ayden what in the hell are we running from" Tristen asked while running for dear life, "is there something after us? " "Yes, but if I tell you this you promise you won't think I'm crazy" "Why would I think your crazy?" "Just!!! Promise ok" "Alright promise" " My Sha—" before he could even finish his thoughts he saw it again by now it had grown into a real life form. It was tall big, black and menacing. It was headed full speed towards him and his brother. " run faster Tristen run faster" Ayden replied going insane " What the hell Ayden what are we running from" they were still running down long empty corridors. The only life that was on the 6th floor where the two boys. Eventually they reached a dead end which was ended by a big tall window with elegantly hung lace. By this time the boys had grown tired from running and Tristen had grown weary. Somehow Ayden thought it wouldn't stop the running from the fiend. He only had one thought in his head this is what he had to do. So he pushed Tristen into a small corner and proceeded to run full speed towards the window. He took one look behind him and saw the shadow waving thoughts of what happen to him the previous night echoed in his head. "Oh Ayden you can't break up with me you just can't, don't you see I'm apart of you now. Nothing no one will stop me from being apart of you" Teffah said while playing in Ayden's golden blond hair. "Ya know what it's over Teffah I don't want to be with you any more" he said while taking her hand off his head. "You think you can just get rid of me that easy ok if that's the way you want it.. I hope you have fun with yourself she said while walking away laughing. She was a girl who'd been a lot of places and her family was known to have practiced in a lot of which craft, but Ayden didn't think nothing of it he practically didn't believe in magic let alone Voodoo, " So this is it he thought.. This was the end of the line. He wasn't crazy he just wasn't" He jumped through the glass and met his death on the pavement of the front of the school. The next day Ayden's death was ruled as accidental. It was complete hysteria around Jimson Private Proprietary School for the Gifted. " We offer our condolence's to you and you're family," Another indistinct voice said. Tristen couldn't help but look mummified.
